50MHz limitations in Norway (copied from LA7DFA's page)

There are several ch E2 (48.25MHz) TV transmitters in Norway. Many areas has TX restrictions for radioamateurs. In these areas it is not legal to transmit on 50MHz while NRK is transmitting their signals. In the areas with primary coverage of the CH E2 TV channel, the amateurs has special responsibillity to make sure their transmissions does not disturb the TV receivers even when all rules and regulations are met.

- It's illegal to transmit from aeroplanes.
- It is legal to make 'split-frequency' contacts on 52-54MHz while transmitting 50-52MHz.
- Max pwr: 100W RF, QRG:50.000 - 52.000.
- NO antenna restrictions.

Below is a list of TV transmitters. The protected areas are no longer mentioned by P.T.
(Norwegian FCC) but can be used as a general guide to 'safe' areas.

TV will change to digital (UHF) in 2007-2009. The most populated areas will stop using 50MHz TV in 2008 while the rest will end before 2010. We hope ham-radio will get primary status in 2010!
